APRIL 2018 | TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL

2018 marked the 17th installment of the Festival and the third year of programming at the Festival Hub at Spring Studios, where partners and patrons play together. The 5th floor hosted Tribeca Immersive, a sprawling maze of VR and AR experiences, while the 6th floor hosted premiere screenings, Tribeca Talks discussions and exclusive music events.

This year, the Beacon Theatre hosted cinephile favorites: a 35th Anniversary Screening of Scarface, followed by a conversation with Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer, Steven Bauer and Brian DePalma; a 25th Anniversary Screening of Schindler's List, followed by a conversation with Ben Kingsley, Liam Neeson and Steven Spielberg. The Beacon also hosted musical events: guests enjoyed performances by Fat Joe, Kid Ink and Gizzle to celebrate Michael Jordan and his footwear after the screening of Unbanned: The Story of AJ1; and brand new rock doc "Horses: Patti Smith and Her Band" followed by a performance by the NY punk icon featuring special guests Bruce Springsteen and Michael Stipe.

Meanwhile, the Festival Hub and BMCC Theatre hosted dozens of world premiere screenings and panel convos, featuring the best of indie mavericks, hero auteurs and cultural icons.
